Synthetic Leather is called by many different names, such as PU Leather, Faux Leather, Leatherette and more. The main types of synthetic leather are PU Leather (polyurethane) and PVC (poly vinyl)
The benefit of Synthetic Leather is that it is easier to clean and cheaper to produce, therefore cheaper to purchase for the buyer.
The problems are that Synthetic Leather does not last very long, not flexible and can crack, peel or separate over time. Sometimes real leather remnants are mixed with polyurethane plastic to manufacture PU Leather.

It usually has a plastic smell, which does not match the smell of Real Solid Leather
Our Real Solid Leather Belts come from Cowhide and then is Tanned to prevent decomposition and then it becomes useable to manufacture products.
As previously said, Synthetic Leather can begin to crack, peel or split after a few years, however Real Solid Leather can last 10 to 20 years or even more. So which is more economical over time ?
Real Cowhide Solid Leather gets better with age, however the initial cost is more than Synthetic Leather, but as they say, you only get what you pay for. Real Solid Leather is likely to have some imperfections, depending on the condition of the hide it was taken from, compared to Synthetic Leather which is manmade from artificial products.
Real Solid Leather also takes a long time to burn, however Synthetic Leather will burn instantly, but not a nice procedure to do when you are shopping for a belt.
Lastly, as said previously, ”you only get what you pay for” as Real Solid Leather belts will last many times longer than Synthetic Leather belts..
